Bergamot (FCF) Essential Oil

Bergamot (FCF) Essential Oil has a lovely, fruity aroma with a very slight balsamic undertone. It’s great for use in skincare massage preparations or body lotions as it has a wide range of properties beneficial to the skin.

It’s an uplifting and refreshing oil which you may also find useful during the colder weather to give you a little lift. It can also help maintain a balanced mood. Commonly used in candles and soap making, Bergamot is great to burn or vaporise to banish household smells – especially tobacco.
We’ve rectified the oil to remove the furcoumarins which make unrectified Bergamot oil hazardous to use before or during a spell in the sun. However, caution should still be applied before using this version of Bergamot on exposed areas of skin in the sunlight. The Italians have used Bergamot in folk medicine for centuries.

How to use – To diffuse in a traditional burner, simply fill dish with water and add a few drops of oil on top before lighting the candle. For electrical fragrancers, follow instructions given by the manual. For massage: dilute to a maximum of 1% in a carrier oil and gently massage over the skin. Add a few drops to a handkerchief or inhale directly from the bottle if you are on the go. Dilute in distilled water and pour into spray bottle for an all-natural room fragrancer.

Uses and methods of application – Dilute to a maximum of 1% and enjoy as an aromatherapy massage to lift spirits and promote a positive mood. Add a few drops to a burner to help neutralise bad odours and fill the home with a fresh and fruity fragrance. Dilute to a maximum of 1% in a base cream or lotion to help balance oily complexions and help refresh the skin. Enjoy a few drops added to a bath to help you de-stress.
