Spearmint essential oil has similar properties to those of Peppermint but is a gentler oil and so more suitable for use with children. Diluted in a carrier oil it makes a good massage for the abdomen to help calm and soothe the stomach. read less

its refreshing and restoring scent may also be helpful in offering a natural lift if energy levels are low. Naturally clearing, its also a lovely oil to use if you’re feeling bunged up from a cold.
A wonderful oil to use all year round but you may find it especially lovely to use in the summer months due to its cooling effects; try adding a few drops to a foot spa to help revive tired feet.

Burning or vaporising Spearmint can help in the same way as using it in massage.

How to use – To diffuse in a traditional burner, simply fill dish with water and add a few drops of oil on top before lighting the candle. For electrical fragrancers, follow instructions given by the manual. For massage: dilute to a maximum of 1% in a carrier oil and gently massage over the skin. Add a few drops to a handkerchief or inhale directly from the bottle if you are on the go. Dilute in distilled water and pour into spray bottle for an all-natural room fragrancer.

Uses and methods of application – Dilute to a maximum of 1% in a carrier oil and use in massage to after a workout to ease sore muscles or massage over abdomen to help calm an upset stomach. Add a few drops to your shampoo to help refresh dull and greasy hair. Add 2-3 drops to a burner or vaporiser to help stimulate and refresh the mind. Place a few drops on to a handkerchief or sniff directly from the bottle to help clear the airways if suffering from a cold.
